Alfa GT 1.9 jtd 16 valve 2008

Featured Replies

We bought this back in 2017, with 103K on the clock, and I use it as a weekend car, so it now has 110K. It is the 170bhp model but now has 197bhp and 347ft lbs of torque. The power delivery is not like any other diesel I have driven, because it is massive low down and continues like a train right up to the redline. The only 2 glitches have been a sidelight bulb and the passenger sun visor, which my wife managed to "fix", ten minutes into our holiday last year. We ended up doing around 2K miles in 2 weeks in France and Germany and the car was fantastic. It cruises @ 2500rpm in 6th at around 90mph and I have no idea what the top speed is. We had it up to around 130mph on the autobahns, but it was so steady and effortless, I think there was a lot more to come. It also averaged nearly 48mpg on that trip, so it is entertaining and economic!. It has the 18" Jetfin alloys with Goodyear NCT's which are nice and sticky in all conditions. The car is white with a burgundy red leather interior and is really comfortable.

There are jobs I would like to see done this year, the biggest one may be the clutch which is slipping slightly in higher gears - I will swap it for a solid flywheel GTA clutch - and maybe fit a QF LSD. I would also like the alloys refurbished and dipped in either satin or gloss black as the silver just looks a bit average IMO.

It has the best driving position and handling of any car I have owned and I love it, but having said that I do love Alfas and this is my fifth.

I would upload a photo, but I have reached my limit on Flickr and I am not sure which other site to join?

So, that is your Busso engined 3.2 Brera, they are lovely cars.

Do you find yourself looking back at it when you park it?

one of the best looking cars out there I think!  not the Busso though, emissions had killed that engine by 2007... this is a GM engine, worked on by Alfa (heads ect) with GM permanent 4wd (Q4) system (rear biased, handles very well) :) with the exhaust , should be circa 280 bhp though! revs to 7k :) Get some pics up of the GT ;)
