Nope - you haven't purchased the wrong system. You need to do some work on the cabling mods.

I have same problem and now I found (too late) this forum/thread. I have 5E0035874A screen, glove box unit MIB1 Amundsen 2 SD slots.

I bought 5E0919605M and when I replaced it it does not work. I have picture as attached picture.

My question is:

• now I have (expensive) paper weight? :(

• I have to replace glove box unit also for this to work - with MIB2 (1 SD slot) for this to work? Is this plug&play replacement or hard(er) one?

You don't - sadly Sasha doesn't tend to visit Briskoda these days. What you are seeing is a legacy of poor display drivers of the screens. I think you have to have a screen of version H51 or above. The screens aren't code linked to the MIB2 headunit. The other issue maybe that you are running an MIB1 system. @pab567 has a matrix, but from memory, you cannot run the new MIB2 screens from an MIB1 unit. It comes down to the display resolution.

What to do: speak to @pab567 and get a scan of the appropriate modules from your existing system, get a MIB2 unit and then the new system activated for your car by your local Skoda/VAG specialist.

5E0035874A is MIB1 glove box unit, it will NOT work with 5E0919605M display unit which is dedicated for MIB2 units - so either you return to your old dsiaply unit or you have to replace glove box unit as well. Pls share VIN so I can check more details for compatibility.

The requirement is there to help reduce the impact of spammers.

@robinio you have Amundsen MIB1, with Bluetooth, with DAB, part number 5E0035874A, with USB 5Q0035726B and fortunately you don't have CANTON sound system. To use display you bought (5E0919605M) you also have to replace glove box unit, either with MIB2 Bolero, Amundsen or Columbus. If you do not need video playback from SD, DVD and USB then I suggest Amundsen as with Bolero NAV button will not work.

If you would like to use Apple CarPlay then you also have to replace USB port.

All units support SmartLink (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink), rear view camera, voice command. features that differ them:

- MIB2 Bolero - no OEM navigation, no CD/DVD drive, no video playback from SD/USB

- MIB2 Amundsen - OEM navigation, no CD/DVD drive, no video playback from SD/USB, support for displaying OEM maps in Active Info Display (Virtual Cluster)

- MIB2 Columbus - OEM navigation, CD/DVD drive, video playback from SD/USB, no support for displaying OEM maps in Active Info Display (Virtual Cluster)
