Hi

I'm looking for some help on removing the electrical plug from the EGR valve (see photo below), I've tried pulling, forcing off with a screwdriver, lifting the tabs, nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how it comes off? 

I'm trying to fix the bared wires you can see in the photo. Any help would be most appreciated.

Took me a decade of swearing and peering through myopic eyes to work out the trick with the wiring connectors, ironically it was always easier to do blind by feel.

 

The most important thing is to push the connector hard in the opposite direction to removal before releasing the latch and then the plug will just spring off. They are hermetically sealed and the sealing ring pushes the plug back against the release tang blocking it.

 

From the look of yours you lift the lug outwards to release, if not then push it in, its one or the other but the trick is always to release the load on the tang.

 

Hope that makes sense, if there is another similar accessible connector on the top of the engine you can practice on that.

Thanks J.R. you're a STAR. Pushed in, got a hook on the bottom clip and out it popped, took less than a minute.
