COLD START / THROTTLE RESPONSE SAGA

Featured Replies

There are numerous complaints on here about:

1. Cold start problems where the vehicle doesn't move when the accelerator is pressed.

2. Kangarooing. No idea of the spelling but you know what I mean.

As we know, dealers will often deny any previous knowledge of problems when you take your vehicle back so how about we name the dealer on here each time we report these problems to them?

By doing this we will all know if the dealer we are reporting our vehicle to IS already aware.

This is NOT intended as a name & shame, simply a way of liaising with each other.

Please ranting or complaining about a dealer or the problem please.

A simple report as suggested in the post below is all that's needed.

 Good suggestion, this could be the thread for that. Users could simply post

Dealer

Date

Car/engine e.g. Karoq/Octavia/Superb 1.5 tsi Manual/DSG

Problem reported (power loss, kangaroo) - keep it short, post details on other threads if wanted.

Dealer response/action

Provided people don't rant or post complaints on this thread then I don't think then this will be seen as a name and shame exercise, but an evidence building exercise to pressure Skoda to play the good guy!

Thanks for your response. I have edited my original post accordingly :)

Dealership employees might deny.

Dealer Principals denying any knowledge is a very serious matter.  Where have they been, on holiday or in the office waiting for sales executives to come in to discuss discounts for new customers....

Never just tell a Dealership Principal / Manager & Warranty Manager in writing,

forward that and your concerns to the Importer. In the UK that is Skoda UK.

Then Skoda UK & VW Groups CEO's Brand Managers and seniors or Call Centre Handlers, Resolution Managers etc can not claim.  No knowledge.

*Tell the DVSA on an official website contact page...*

Dealer: Robert Eardley Eardley, Crewe.

They have today confirmed they are aware of the problem.

My Karoq is going in on Tuesday to be checked.

Although my Karoq does not have the problem you describe, I would be interested in what the dealer has to say - Robert Eardley is my local dealer also.

Hope you get it sorted!

Car went in this morning. I asked when they became aware of this problem ..... they claim to have known for about 2 1/2 months!

I'm now waiting for them to ring me with an update.
