Got my VRS!

Looks good! Are the alloys diamond cut, or have they been blasted and painted silver?

The alloys are the new silver 'extremes' as supplied now by Skoda so they haven't been repainted

Ah, right so.  They look good.  I have the diamond cut and they're a bloody pain.

Looks great, is it a bumper off job to change the grille?

Nice.  Petrol or oil burner?

If you want the silver one to come off in one piece then ideally yes but I could not be bothered to do a full bumper strip. Followed a YouTube video to try and remove the grille in one piece but couldn't budge the clips as you can't get your hand in behind without risking damage to the main black grille so changed tack! I drilled a small pilot hole through the silver grille, enough to get a screwdriver in then prised it off. It broke into about 10 pieces but I have no further need for it so wasn't too fussed.

Are they? My diamond cut Geminis are 5 and a half years old and still look perfect apart from a couple of stone chips on the anthracite section.

I know you said "optional 19's" but were they on the car or did you option them as I thought they only came with the silvered grille surround and roof rails ? They look great, I have the diamond cut 19's on my 230 estate and not too keen on them.

Yes. Refurbed once before I bought it as water had got in. Now there's another kerb mark (not me..) and I guess it's only a matter of time before they get the white water marking again.

Dunno as it’s ex demo from a main dealer. Came with these wheels but black roof rails. I changed the grille and mirrors.

Ideally Id have had the darker Gemini wheels but I do like these a lot, just could do with being darker to compliment the black pack bits

Are you still looking for 18" rims then    ?

Personally I'd keep the 19" silver Extremes. They suit the white of your car.

You know it makes sense

Silver wheels and chrome is now called " Silver Pack "  or " Chrome Pack "

Honestly I don’t know!!

Thought I’d hate the 19’s as not keen on the black and silver extremes but these ones do look good

At this moment I really can’t decide

The silver ones still have the diamond cut finish

If I could have ordered silver Extremes on my 245 that's what I would have chosen. All the mods look good and suit your car, top job.

Don't forget to notify your insurance company of any mods or changes very important to keep your policy correct

I traded my 15reg 184 scout for a 18reg 230 vrs yesterday. Ride is harder and noisier but so much more exciting to drive especially with the updated stereo, LED headlights, ACC and power. Still going to miss my Scout though...

How did this go?

I still need to do the same on my new VRS, but I'm dreading pulling trim and the glovebox on a brand new car!

Scout was great but the VRS feels more 'grown up' and agree it;s more fun. Ideally I would have gone for a 4x4 VRS but just couldn't stretch the funds!

Easy job really, glovebox is a 2 minute job to take out. Hardest bit is removing the A Pillar trim without bending it but I use a flat wood chisel covered in electrical tape so it doesn't mark it.

The re-fit is harder but the trick is to stand outside the car and look in through the windscreen when you are doing it as you can see where to line up the pegs and steel clips.

Had a load of the interior trim out today to fit a sub-woofer, that was a little more scary but it all went back in fine.

Please let us know how the sub install went as that’s my next job for mine!! Also your silver Xtreme’s have been a inspiration to have mine done in that colour so this could get interesting :D

LOL! Yes its funny how pre-delivery I didn't think I would like the silver extremes, now having got used to them I love 'em

The sub is in and working, took me about 2 hours start to finish, will update my other thread with some pics etc

I can’t stand the state of mine as the diamond rim has gone manky and I’m not digging the grey all over look so silver it is! I await the pics of the sub :)
