Isn't the time meant to update itself when you go into France/Belgium? (I do have the GPS time box ticked.)

 

Also for some reason I thought that the speedo would automatically change over from mph to kmh, I know it didn't happen, nor did the time add/subtract an hour when I went over & back yesterday on a shopping trip.

 

Or am I simply losing the plot... (Steady Shy!).

No - I thought this but you have to tell it where you are i.e. GMT or Europe.  It's all in the handbook and can be a bit laborious setting it.  If you simply change the time manually, it will reset to the area time after you switch off again.
