TDi PD overheating dash warning

Featured Replies

My apologies if being a bit lazy. I’ve not searched this but lately a few times on starting (twice when very cold outside) my overheating warning light comes on with the beeeep signalling it.

It’s obviously a sensor playing up. Switch off and restart and no problems. As I say only happened a few times but again today which reminded me.

Will it be a sensor beside (or inside..) the thermostat playing up?

Thanks for any input on it!

Coolant level warning. Check level first, but usually expansion tank replacement required (sensor probes are integral to it).

Ah, it’s level warning is it? I imagined overheating warning. Thanks. Level is fine so it must be sensor going slowly bad.

i guess if need be maybe finding a 2nd hand tank will do it.

thx again

A new tank is as cheap as chips, don't bother with secondhand.

It serves as both level and overheat warning.
