I feel like this should have been covered already, but I can't find anything.

 

The estate has storage space specifically for roof bars under the variable floor, but my 120cm Thule squarebars are about 3cm too long to fit in them.

Does anyone have roof bars that fit in here?

Might there be a cheap, hacksaw-based solution to this problem?

 

I have roof-bars, but I' terrible for carting unneccessary fuel-consuming stuff about in the car without adding those the the burden - so I confess I've never tried to put them in the space provided.

 

I do carry the towing hitch, though...

My cheap 120cm ebay areo bars fit perfectly in the boot space. It was like it was made for them

I got them for my Kia Sportage, but found they fitted in the boot of the Skoda, so they live in there now...

Is this just applicable to cars with variable floor or is it all estates?

Just VBF cars. Also has a nice parcel shelf storage area

Please tell me more (photo if possible).... I have VBF but always end up putting the parcel shelf in the footwell for the rear seats.
