TR6 would be my choice for a 'toy', but you're looking at new car money for a 35 year old car that will break down a lot.... A Triumph Vitesse is a good alternative.

A friend-of-a-friend has a Fiat X1/9 and about half a car worth of spares! He loves it, but it spends most of it's time being fettled!

Oh sorry, I forgot you had a nice open topped car to enjoy those hot sunny days. Now you have a hard to without electric rear windows or propper climate control.

This months classic car mag has an item on mx5's. Maybe of use, although you appear to know a lot already.

The MR2, hey each to there own, personally for 8k I'd get a Alpina B10, okay 15k, RS2 then :P...ba softtop...ok a marlin with a straight6 on throttle bodies

'Component protection enabled' after Columbus MIB2 firmware update

Hi all, I've just updated my MIB2 Columbus from MHI2_ER_SKG11_K3330 to MHI2_ER_SKG11_K3343. The installation completed okay and shows the new version installed but it seems to have enabled component protection. Now the unit has had component protection disabled and SmartLink (AA) enabled before, my car is a 2014 Octavia so originally had a MIB1 in it. Would a firmware update have reset those?

Hi folks, me again... Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the hinged moving section of the glove compartment from its outer enclosure without having to remove the entire glove compartment assembly from the dash? Something has 'escaped' over the back of the glove compartment and is trapped between the movable section and the outer enclosure with the result that it's preventing the glove compartment from opening fully, so I want to extricate the offending object before anything get

I owned a 2017 Superb Mk III and recently swapped to a Mk IV and love the car apart from one very dangerous fault. Occasionally, the car decides I’m about to hit something and slams on the brakes - so hard, that you think you have hit something! It has happened several times whilst manoeuvering at low speed in reverse which is somewhat disquieting. But it has also recently done it whilst driving forwards - in no way on any occasion was there a risk of collision with either stationary or mobile

Generally, i dont like to be one of those people to open up another topic that has been exhausted time and time again, but after extensive research, i really am struggling to find a forum response that matches fully with my issue. Two months ago I bought a MY2023 Skoda Octavia with 2.0 TDI engine and 6 speed manual transmission. It now has 184000 kilometers in it. To my knowledge, DMF and clutch are still original. There is no knocking or tapping sound coming from the DMF when the engine is cold. There are also no vibrations even when driving at too low RPMs. Gears change very smooth and clutch doesn't feel worn at all. There is, however, a clunking noise if I turn the engine without pressing the clutch. Can this solely
