HELP NEEDED!!!

Featured Replies

Needing some help , I have a mk1 vrs and it struggles to start and recently started cutting out and stalling.

fault came up saying it was camshaft position sensor, I have replaced both camshaft and crankshaft sensors , also checked all wiring coming from the sensors to eco and continuity is fine , any help will be highly appreciated thanks

Cam position sensor errors can stem from cam timing errors, have you checked or replaced the cam belt recently?

I had the timing belt and water pump done but used the locking keys

The timing may have moved sufficiently to throw the error, you need to recheck it.

If you lock the crank at TDC and you can't get the cam locking pin to slide in then you need to loosen the two locking bolts on the cam sprocket and use a spanner on the centre bolt to move the cam just enough for it to slide in then tighten the two sprocket locking bolts. Voila, it's timed properly.

checked last night, torsion value was 0.0 which is bang on I was told, so today aim going to take the loom out and check the wires and make sure there aren't any chafed ones touching each other as it can still give continuity I was told, thanks for your help
