Random flashing/beeping handbrake light

Hi wonder if you can help on this on my 05 VRS .Recently the above has started blinking/ going off  randomly but particularly on hard  acceleration and turning corners. I have checked the handbrake is down. Does this light warn of anything else and can one disable the loud beep as it is a distraction when driving. Nothing seems wrong with the brakes.

And if it needs topping up quite a bit, search for the leak until you find it.
