Should I have an SD card for maps?

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone can help here......I've got a 2014 vrs that has an SD card for maps.

Dad has just got an SE-L 2017 with the Columbus upgrade. He has 2 SD slots and CD which I thought was strange. NAV appears to be working but no card in SD1.....is that right?

Columbus maps are stored on its internal hard drive, supposedly 50gb

Updates can be applied using the SD, CD/DVD, USB or online with the built in Wifi if you have those options

Only the Amundsen reads the maps directly off an SD card - which has to be a Skoda SD card as there is embedded security information.
