Unlocking....

Featured Replies

After a week with our new Karoq some, shall we say 'shortcomings', are showing up.....not least unlocking the doors.

Got the system set for 'drivers door only' (good for security reasons) but how do you open the passenger door?

From what I can deduce on here and the web is two presses on the fob looks to be the answer but it doesn't work and thus I find myself either pressing the padlock on the console twice or reaching across and pulling the interior handle......there must be an easier way?

Another gripe that compounds the lock problem is the handbook, seemingly translated from Czech to Chinese and then into English!

Two QUICK presses should sort out the unlocking problem when you’re entering the car and if you’re already in the car and getting out, press the console padlock button after you’ve opened the driver’s door should resolve that.

Exactly as I thought John999boy but it wasn’t having any of it yesterday......i’ll give it another go today.

All is seemingly well now, 2 quick presses works but 2 steadier presses don't.

Also if you have KESSY then two slides of the hand on either door will open both

Now that is interesting, two strokes of the sensor for me just re-locks the doors!

You have to slide your hand behind the handle, not the sensor on the front

Oops, i’ll Get my coat......!

Think I'd just set it to 'one press opens all doors'.

Not sure the Karoq is high on the carjackers list, plus my hand bag is well secured on the choke lever.

I’d agree ‘silver’ but the wife has a colleague that suffered a incindent recently where some scroat looking for “any spare change please?” opened her rear near-side door moments after she returned to her vehicle in the same car park MrsB uses.....no real harm done but her team are all a little nervous now.

Is the key / car customisable to open as required, like the seat and mirrors, I seem to recall something Regarding the Golf having such a feature?

Looks like a yes then?      .....or maybe not....!

The car can get confused if you touch the moving part of the handle AND the sensor at the same time. To unlock just touch the handle OR the sensor or use the key fob button.   Similarly it can get confused if you try to lock the car touching both the handle AND the sensor.

Tom

It only gets confused if you do it wrong. It isn't overly difficult :D
