Probably a stupid question....!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I know I've prefaced this post with a silly title, but this is probably a stupid post, but want to check nonetheless.

So my wife was driving our Fabia and she heard a loud pop sound! Assuming it was her, she went outside to see what was going on. She found this piece of metal on the other side of the road.

Is this from the car, and if so what is it?

She did say later in the day, it might have been a bus next to her, or maybe this metal was something she drove over...

I've driven the car a few times since and it's seems fine from what I can see, and I can't see any perceivable damage anywhere.

My guess is it wasn't our car, and she's just collected a random piece of metal from the road :D ...but I thought I'd check...

Oh goodness. Looks like the compressor cocklesprocket adaptor to me. Without it you risk over-heating the under-body torsional drive-assembly, steering associator and you'll notice the G-rating on inverse turn-in is directly negatively affected and I don't know what I'm talking about :D

It does look a bit 'road-debris' to me, but I'm sure someone will chime in to put it to bed one way or another! Credit to your wife for stopping - my OH would have carried on, no doubt about it.

This is not a Skoda part.

I've found a car keys laying on the road. Not sure what it's for but it looks like Alfa Romeo to me. Can somebody confirm?

Haha thanks all, I was expecting a little sarcasm - but I didn't think there was any harm in checking!

There are no stupid questions; only stupid replies!
