Using OBDeleven for digital MPH display

Hi all,

Has anyone had any experience using the OBDeleven dongle (communicating with Android phone via Bluetooth) to recode the instrument display so that the kph speed is replaced by a larger one in MPH?

I have a FL 2012 Octavia Estate SE.

I haven't actually bought the OBDeleven yet but did succumb to good ol' eBay and, for £6.99, bought a cheap non Ross-Tech cable with VCDS Lite, purely in order to make that display change.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get comms working properly with my Windows 10 laptop (via several serial USB ports) so decided it was a non-starter and am considering the OBDeleven device.

The thread below deals with the topic using VCDS (or VAG-COM, with the Ross-Tech cable).
