What is this plug?

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

So im working through the faults on the VRS. It bugs me there being problems, so they need sorting properly. When I saw that the pipe off the PCV has been bodged I found a plug that’s loose next to it and I can’t for the life of me see where it goes. Any help is appreciated

What faults are you getting on your ECU error code reader?  That might hint as to where that connector goes.  It looks like it's possibly off an engine sensor like the coolant temp sensor or knock sensor, from that location, could also be a connector to the bunch of vac hoses that sit underneath where the oil dipstick is.  There are lots of connectors on the engine that look similar so you need to really read your ECU faults.

It can’t be off anywhere else within a 4 inch radius, that is if the loom has been rooted right. I can’t see anything, I’m wondering if it’s something to do with the broken pipe off the PCV valve that’s wrapped up in red tape (like that when I bought it) working through the problems week by week

What colour are the wires in the plug ? as that would identify what it should be connected to

I`m not aware of any connectors that come off that vac hose.  That hose just goes down to a T section with some one way valves.  P1296 is engine coolant sensor related which isn`t too far from where that vac hose is.

The connector for the coolant temp sensor on my car doesn't have those 3 metal springs round 3 sides of the connector and is a different shape.  that one in your picture look an awful lot like the one on the top side of the throttle body?
