Tuning - man it's fun

Featured Replies

Were asking about tuning the car a few months back now, got my questions covered, thanks :)

Bought the the kit from DTUK with app control and DSG remap.

Did that in November last year but not installed it until today. Winter is a pain.

Also needed to wait for my new car since the first one got wrong specs from the factory, it took awhile. But now my green wonder is here.

Don't have any dyno charts since it's not done any yet. Installed it all on my parking lot. Need to get something for my own amusement at a later stage.

Tried to get some useful data before the shift to compare against, but the winter tires can't cope with pretty much anything. Even at stock the tires spin only at 0-100 km/h tests.

Tried a cpl of apps to determine 0-100 km/h, 100-200 km/h, but they refused to show any reliable results. Alone in the car so couldn't do it with timer either.

By feel only so far. Man it's fun!

I've got a new car!

Long time since I've been driven something that goes from 50 to 200 km/h that quick. Last was a Lamborghini in 1991.

Have had a cpl of tuned SAABs but they weren't as quick as this.

Initial data on fuel, way to early to determine anything, gives that I save 1 l / 100 km, not to bad. Need to be monitored over a few refills ofc, but promising.

That and an even more fun car to drive :) Happy is not a big enough word :inlove:

Will update when I get some charts.

What have You done in terms of tuning?

Still happy about it?

Better/worse fuel consumption than before?

If tuned what fuel do you use?

you need to check out Ants build for petrol tuning, if you havent seen it you are new?

You probably did not work out whether your consumption display was accurate before fitting the DTUK box but it will definitely appear at least 10% more optimistic after fitment.

The DTUK operates by corrupting the ECU signals which has this effect however real life consumption should be no worse and possibly a bit better, unless you are using the extra available performance.

Enjoy.

Yes know how the system works and i did check real time consumtion to the displayed before i have done this. But i prefere to count at fillups.

And thanks ;)

The way this box works with petrol engines should not interfere with fuel consumption calculation and display, therefore the information provided by the car is as accurate as before installation. If it would have been a diesel engine, there would have been indeed differences between the real fuel consumption and the one displayed on the dashboard with the box running.
