DMF inspection hole

Featured Replies

Hi everybody, long time no speak, I hope my fellow Briskodians are well. I don't suppose anybody knows exactly where the DMF inspection hole is do they? The car's going in this afternoon to a garage my Dad used to use.

Thanks,

Tom

I've found a guide on here that suggested the 02m gearbox had an inspection hole on it and was hoping that somebody could confirm this and if possible, help me to locate this inspection hole so I can show the mechanic?

P.S the mechanic changed the date to be booked in, it's in Wednesday now.

Many thanks,

Tom

There's a hole about 30mm diameter just above the starter motor position in the second picture of this listing?

Sorry Wino, just noticed you'd replied. So if I just tell the mechanic to remove the starter, their should be a small inspection hole there to see the movement on the DMF?

Ohh sorry, I see what you mean now, thanks. So how easily accessible is that inspection hole? Do you just remove the plastic under-tray from the car to expose that hole or is there more to it do you know?

Thanks,

Tom

That picture is taken from above. Open your bonnet take the engine top cover off (if there is one) and look down at the junction of engine and gearbox, and you may see it.  Engine bay may be to busy to get a good view though.
