Oil Leak From Chain Housing - Easy Fix?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a very small oil leak from the chain housing on my 1.2 TSI Yeti, it just needs the seal / mastic redone I think...is this a common fault? The chain has been replaced so I'm guessing the seal hasn't lasted as long as I'd hoped...stupid question, can I get it resealed without changing the oil?

Thank you!

Have you checked all the fasteners are snugged up?

Who replaced the chain and how long ago?

hello, it was changed about 5 years ago, i haven't checked, just assuming its the seal (and have searched the forum and read similar) - are they easy to get to?

thank you :-)

just wondered if i needed to move the pipes on the left hand side, that's all :)

Are you sure its not the crankshaft oil seal behind the lower pulley ? That's where my son's Fabia 1.2 TSI leaked from.
