P3138 fault

Featured Replies

Hello, after seeing the glow plug light flash a few times under acceleration I decided to get the car on a Delphi and it came up this error referring to the manifold, as shown in the picture, yes I know it's a bad picture! Although this light has no effect on the performance it just flashes and then when the car is turned off it disappears again was doing some reading and I heard about people having problems with dpf and limp mode with this issue but I've had no such. It's a BMN PD170.

Thanks

Quick google suggests either calibrating or mostly likely replacing the intake flap motor should fix it.

Thanks for the reply, sometimes I did notice the car would feel powerful and sometimes you'd think it was a bit dead in power wonder would it have anything to do with it.

Can anyone identify this part here? And where it can be got. I've been told its leaking and needs replaced. Its going into the intake manifold.

Thanks

Jack

It's a diaphragm unit so it's possible it's become age hardened and split ?

yea ive been told theres a hole in it, would this affect performance in general power wise?

It controls the vacuum for the variable intake flaps, so if it's not allowing the flaps to go to the correct postions it would affect the performance
