Morning all, I know a few was following the issues I had with the karoq and rear brakes and seats ect, so a week a go had the call to say car all fixed go and collect, so made the 100 mile round trip, handed keys and the car broke down in the handover bay, needless to say a lot of red faces, yesterday had another call deffo fixed come and collect. Down I went again, again flat battery so had to have a jump start , it's a 68 plate just over 3000 miles. Anyways I have a 5 page repair list and omg,  all under warranty but heads up. They had to replace all the ico fix holdings as all fitted wrong, replaced the timing belt as skoda confirms issues with the gates belt used in Aug 2018 and have issued a tech bulliten about this, replaced all rear brake pads issues at factoryagain skoda have issued a tech letter about this, coolient tank sensors broken now replaced , middle seat electrical box broken not picking up any one sitting in the seat in told when you remove the middle seat a small black box is on the bottom and it clips back into the electrics when the seat goes back however as I reported this fault when we got the car they know it was damaged at factory, the new timing belt seems to have given the car more power but I've also noticed the engine sounds a lot louder too now, it's a 1.6 diesel manual. So anyone else having this issue with the above skodaknow about them and should do the work under warranty foc for you.

Nick,

Not wishing to pish on your parade, but as a fellow(2010 vintage) 1.6TDI owner,

I have learned to my cost that this engine, at least of the 2010 vintage, is regarded a very very troublesome by a  knowledgable local VW Indy specialist, who glumly gave me a guided tour of the various cars parked up at his garage with details of what was wrong with them, how much had been spent on them etc etc.

All the 1.6TDI's and indeed of more recent years than my 2010 model.

Good luck.

Marcus

As said mines a 68 plate built Aug 2018 and I got it Oct 2018, I know vag are having major issues with some engines and been informed they are pulling some from production line. We are going to get rid of this car now as don't trust it, even doing school run this morning the engine was so loud and the brakes squeaking away may be the new pads , but had a long run along the motaway yesterday after they was changed, just don't feel comfortable it this car. Thinking about the seat tarraco xcellence lux model 2.0 diesel very nice test drive and dealer has a few in stock ready to go.

I believe you indicated yours was the 1.6 tdi  would you not consider a 2.0tdi karoq,  or you just lost faith in the Car full stop

No we had nothing but issues from handover with the pdi not done right, has really put us off skoda brand now, won't even use local dealer,  I go 50 miles to another dealership that's how much trust I have in my local one , who could not care less.

@Nick78

You should not have to travel anyplace, Skoda UK / Warranty Provider should have your car collected and the courtesy cars dropped off until the car is of Merchantable Quality'.

As it is this lemon should be returned to Skoda CZ, for examinations and as an example to new employees of that crap the factory car turn out.

It should be replaced now with a new car at no extra expense to you, Skoda Dealerships and Skoda UK have been disgraceful.

?

Any reason you have not rejected the car, because it is not fit for purpose, and nobody should be landed with it as a used car when Skoda have it back in trade.

This was something that Skoda UK should be taking up with the Dealer Principal at the Dealership and his or her employers.

I'm going to speak to skoda uk in the morning as had to get a new tyre today flat as hell it had a bolt in the tyre , kwik fit say it's an exhaust bolt so as dealer had car for a month in the garage and got it back yesterday afternoon, the timing is right for it to go flat over night, but putting this aside , I think your right it's nothing but trouble and we need to see what options are available

Only a month, my record was 5 months, well in on the 30th of one month, and 3 full elapsed months later I got it back on the 1st of the 5th month, still with the exact same "engineered by VAG" DQ200 software "fix" that produced other unwelcome, and potentially hazardous  side effects, that Skoda spent 3 months trying to fix with first a replacement mechatronic units, then replacement  clutch packs, then an entire replacement DQ200 transmission.

cheers

Did they tell you which FRIDAY in August 2018 your car was built? It sounds like all the apprentices were allowed on the production line at the same time. What a complete farce!
