Sportline TDi 190 BHP?

Featured Replies

I am looking to change my VRS at the end of the year and have been looking at the Karoq SportLine, the only thing stopping me is that the TDi's are only available in 150 BHP tune (I don't really want to downgrade my power as I have a 190 BHP VRS TDi)

Some websites show a Sportline is available in 190 BHP (Drive the deal etc) my question, is it or will it be available in 190 BHP, the Skoda website certainly does not show it as available.

Thanks All :)

There should be a 4WD DSG petrol Sportline Karoq for about £32,000 which comes with a 2.0Turbo but it's more set up for efficiency being a miller cycle engine so not very good for a performance model (engine shared with the Tiguan).

Thanks, due to my mileage I really need a TDi  - although I have been idly looking at the petrol to see if its a viable proposition, but the maths don't work out unfortunately

Fair enough we have the 1.5Tsi manual Karoq which has averaged 45mpg (best of 63.2mpg) over 14,400miles and is quite nippy (0-60mph in 8.5 seconds). Both myself and SWMBO commute 52 miles per day and both run petrol cars.

Interested in this thread, as I'm considering similar swap as to finnster - my 2014 VRS tdi is likely to be swapped out (company car) in the next few weeks as its using a lot of oil with 127k miles on it. In my case the company pay the fuel (other than some minor personal use) but i was looking for a sportline with the 190 tdi 4x4 dsg but this seems to be a unicorn (despite what DTD says!) - even tdi's seem to be rare with the dsg. Given timings i'll probably need to see if theres any ex-demo's or stock cars coming up - i'd like virtual cockpit if possible.

I confirmed with the company today though that i could get a petrol 1.5 tsi dsg - obviously 'only' 150ps but i gather the karoq isn't the car you necessarily buy for sports driving (i can say that as we have a golf R as weekend/2nd car). The list price of the tsi is better than the tdi so i think the car tax is about £25/month better for me going petrol.

Without trying to hijack the OP, my only real concern is that the 30k+ miles or so a year i do is on the high side for petrol (not from a fuel use point of view though). How does the 1.5 tsi sit at motorway speeds (is it revvy)?.

From another Forum, it seems the 190PS 2.0 TDI engine will be available to order for the Karoq in Germany at least - Skoda’s largest European market - as from mid-May 2019, whether SUK will make it available is tba.

It is also apparent that the following engine options in the Karoq will shortly cease to be available in Germany at least:

1.0TSI 115PS DSG

SCOUT 1.5TSI 150PS DSG 4x4

2.0 TDI 150PS MANUAL 4x4

It’s a pity the 1.0 DSG might get the chop........it fits the bill perfect for us.......and I just love dropping the line “it’s under one litre’ to admiring passengers and friends.
