Did you have to use their app? Did you need to pre-book?

  • Author

App was useless. I just rocked up and used a Credit Card. PS. On the AC charger now, minimum charge South Ayrshire Council £5. It should be 47 pence a kWh on the AC but CPS app shows being charged 62 pence. This had happened before. Once I have 11 kWh I will stop and charge to full later on a Rapid.

Greggs no more at the Shell filling station off the A90 at Forfar beside the KFC, McD,s and the Marstons / Dunnichen Stone. No sign of the new Osprey chargers being installed. Still Angus Council chargers near by.

There have been no Super Fast Chargers available between Dundee & Aberdeen when on the A90.

There are ones on the Aberdeen by pass if turning off before Aberdeen.

The Osprey Hub is not built yet at Forfar.

There is a new Hub planned near Stracathro Services by Po Go Charge with 10 chargers.

This will be ideal for those not just travelling the A90 but getting charged before going towards Deeside & the Cairngorms via the Cairn O Mount. Fettercairn to Banchory B974. (Not much in the way of charging about and no superfast)

Forfar Sheriff court. 2 AC posts/ 4 sockets. An off peak button. Only issue. Can't find any info on tariffs or who it is paying to. Not showing ElectroVerse, CPS, zapmap or plugshare. Just the strange kind of thing that is quite normal. I will check out later when home. It I get bail...

I was only there to get a will certified. Where there is a Will there is a way.

But,

nobody in the Sheriffs office or the Council office receptions could enlighten me about the chargers and if Angus Council Employees / fleet only.

My searching since getting home have failed to find who funded them or any info.

For the banter visiting the courts is a laugh hearing the nonsense of people with their solicitors or defence lawyer in the entrance & foyer.

So many just turning up to be told nothing happening today, reports not ready, witnesses not there etc etc.

Plenty police about ready to be called and not needed.

"Drop off only"

"Off peak EV charging"

I feel like those 2 are mutually exclusive. Not finding the price is least of your worries ;)

I've been on jury service, so much of the whole thing is waiting for people/stuff. I finished a TV show on my phone sat in their waiting room. Amazing anything gets done.

  • Author

@wyx087 Drop Off Only was painted there before an chargers were put there and just left.

Knowing when offpeak is and what the tariff is if they are for the public to use would be very useful.

No wucking furries really as not using them for slow charging but if installed using public money and they should be giving free charging for 2 years i will find out. There is a shortage of AC chargers within the town.

I will just pop this here so that anyone coming north from Perth might see it.

Chargers up at Broxden Park & Ride. Tesla & Perth Council, and maybe Ultra Rapids elsewhere.

Single charger at Scone Park & ride not on.

Anyway, i never go Forfar / A90 to Perth , Edinburgh or Glasgow via Dundee.

I go the way he is, but through Scone & Perth.

The route Forfar to Scone now has 20 mph speed limits in the villages and towns to maybe stop HGV,s using it as a quick route.

A94, not fast flowing really seeing as you need to not exceed 60 mph because of CAMERA VANS & the good places to pass, and now 5 x 20 mph limits.

Anyway, the new BYPASS road he takes just before you get into Scone & then Perth that he uses to get up to the Broxden Roundabout and off to Glasgow is slower than the normal way at busy times, busy times in Perth & busy times with the A9 into Perth from Inverness.

I would not try Hypermiling it or risking running low on electric with the high chance of accidents / road closures / diversion.

Nipping into Broxden TESLA Super Charger for a bit of a top up just makes sense, rather than say Stirling Park & Ride and only 50 kW charging, or the expensive OSPREY chargers are the Marston's pub.

If you are going to the A9 to go north then it is the Perth Bypass, but as he is here he is heading to the Perth Motor Mile to go up to Broxden Roundabout. Car Dealerships & TISO,s there off the Circle, but really a crazy way to go in a car at anything other than middle of the night...

23 miles of dual carriageway Perth to past Dunblane average speed cameras, surely set the CC and get a move on to Keir Roundabout and then the Motorway.

Sit back behind a coach if you want efficiency because they are doing 70mph, at least.

"WHY DID IT DO THAT, WHY? i was part through a lane change!"

Was it because it wanted 2 hands on the steering wheel and drive with care and attention, that was still not the lane he needed, it was 1 more to his right.

Go right across to the right and when you get to Kingston Bridge you are ahead of where he is by 1/2 a mile, and do not take the left to the M77, stay on the insided on your right, then take the slip left onto the M77 and its outside lane. Pay attention and do it often enough and you get to know you only change lanes at the start as you join and then as you come off. If you go the speed everyone else is trying to do.

Nice! Top up while waiting to ensure seamless experience.

Is that Toyota a CCS compatible EV? Never seen one of those.

I never looked. Probably just there because they were behind them on prayer mats. The VW certainly was not charging. Park and ride at airport was full of Hire cars, Polestars.

New DC and tethered charger installed at Girvan harbour. Been in for weeks. Not live yet. I had 3% battery (1 mile) this morning so came early to use AC chargers. Charge for at least the £5 minimum charge.. 47 pence a kWh.

CPS card was denied so used ElectroVerse. Called CPS to see why denied, they say unpaid charges Stirling, I said paid. Have receipts. Sort it out. £2 min charge charger cut out and £13 paid once working. Ok. Emailing admin. Not interested in the 2x £5 charges that is was told would be removed and were not. Checked car before leaving it. and AC charge stopped after 2 minutes

Called CPS, he started it remote. Now ElectroVerse will take £5 min charge. And CPS / stripe will take what I use. Edit.... 2 hours. 19.5 kWh £9.16. So that will give about 70 miles. About equally to a petrol car..

Glad you were able to get something sorted out, could have been very nasty otherwise.
