N75 and MAF Change on pd100

Featured Replies

Hi,

I found http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forums/5/532316/ShowPost.aspx post on uk mvis site and I wondered if the pf130 or pd150 had a more accurate n75 (boost) and MAF sensor.

If so, does anyone know if it would fit my pd100 and what effect would it have.

I am guessing if it can measure it more accurate the ecu will call more precisely boost and have a smoother power delivery.

I would appreciate some comments as the technical detail is going over my head!

Best wishes

John

I don't believe so. Only, that during my conversion my boost sensor needed changing for a pd130 one, as I was using the pd100 one. So I imagine the same "bad signal" problem would come using a pd130 boost sensor in the pd100 setup.

With regards to the N75 (thats the vacuum area right?) Its also a No. If you look how your N75 looks now, its made of up 3 different distinct parts, each with a separate wire going to it. As I found out when rewiring my engine, the N75 on the pd130 has just a single wire going to it, and one box does all the tricks with the 6 vacuum hoses coming out of one spot. The pd100 has a pair of hoses coming out 3 places.

The MAF on the pd130 is a little wider in bore, but its possible just the sensor can be transposed, possibly with good results? Its all to do with the A, B or C letter on the end of the MAF part number. :)

Hope that helps.

Sure does Jason Thanks,

Did you take a look at the uk mvis thread?

John

I don't really go on there much. I just know how much of a pain in the a55 it was for me when I suddenly realised I needed to change my N75 during my conversion. :)
