No 'TRAVEL MODE' shown on Settings

Featured Replies

Having previously had a Yeti I did not anticipate any problems as we crossed the Channel in selecting Travel Mode (as per the user manual) to cater for driving on the RHD side of the road. So 'CAR' ==> 'SETTINGS' ==> 'LIGHTS' only to find there is no 'TRAVEL MODE' option! Now it could be that my 2019 SE 1.5 DSG has some intelligence I know nothing about and uses adaptive lighting based upon some sensor(s), but has anyone else found this problem?

I believe a SE has halogen headlights and therefore would need beam deflectors stuck on the front of the headlights. Your previous Yeti must of had xenon headlights if it had travel mode.

Thanks for the reply Kenny R (and its promptness)! Then I guess my gripe is that user manual does not seem to differentiate between the type of lights (and ours are indeed halogen)...

This was an important feature for me too, since my wife is from mainland Europe and i travel often there. My old Golf used to have this with Xenon's and I hated sticking the deflectors on my halogen Volvo. This is definitely limited to Xenon/LED headlight models

It does differentiate but not in the most obvious of ways to be fair. Under "driving abroad" in the lights section of the manual it says, "Therefore, the LED front headlight setting must be adapted by turning on Travel mode in infotainment..." It does not seem to make mention of the modus operandi for the halogen headlights. Guess it assumes you know you have to put sticky things on them.

Yes it is my mistake for assuming a great idea [Travel Mode] would apply across the lighting options!

I imagine Xenons and LEDs have motors installed for automatic adjustment when switched on, and halogens don't. Maybe this is why the car can do the adjustment.
