Hello all,

 

Just picked up a new to me VRS 4x4 and managed to break the driver side vents within 24 hours. 

 

Does anyone know of a guide on how to remove correctly the vents before I start hacking at it? I'm struggling finding anything for the NX / Mk4 online or on these forums.

From the repair manual it doesn't look like you need to do anything special in order to remove the vents.

Brilliant, thank you. I was concerned with hidden screws.

 

I can only see a slot at the bottom, not sure what to pull on.

 

can you share how you gain access to the repair manual please?

I bought access for a few hours to https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do when I got the car.

Has anyone managed to remove the central grill?
I want to remove it to put in ambient  light but I'm not sure how to pull the part.

The central vent (No2 on the photo you posted).  
Τhe instructions just say you remove it, obviously by pulling it. But I don't know exactly how to do it and I'm afraid I might do some damage.

Yeς, I saw several photos on the internet to understand how it connects. I don't see any holes for screws, it must be with a clasp. But I don't know where to grab it to pull it. 

So it looks like just these metal clips hold the vent inside the dash  and nothing more. 

Ok, i did it

for the record, there are 4 clips on the underside of the vent, (actually the vent cap) that need pressure to come off.

There are no screws, only clips. Start pulling this out from behind with a plastic trim removal and be gently.

Did you solve it? I got the same issue just to get it out and another one, the left clip for changing of air broke(well i bought the car with broken clip). First I need to get this damn air vent out, then I need the clip. Does anyone have a link for aliexpress replacement? I searched like 100 clips and I don't know which one is correct and most of them fit octavia mk3...

Must be a commin prooblem. Mine has just broken after the centre plastic fell off. The previous owner must have glued it.

Did you find the link for the replacement part please?
