Hi daughter just got a 2008 1.4 TDI. This week twice wouldn't start, abs and handbrake light on and beeping.but then cleared and started. Now won't start at all. Any ideas so I can talk to dealer with some knowledge? thanks

Battery has the charge indicator glowing green so don't think that's the problem. But thanks for the suggestion

Checked for fault codes none appeared, so appears to have been a faulty starter motor. Replaced seem all ok now.

Sadly today appears to have reoccurred. Does anyone know what the red box on top of the battery is, as don't know if this is a coincidence but hit it and sometimes it seems to clear the fault and starts.
