Rear bumper Paint protection / guard install

Featured Replies

I have just ordered a pre-cut kit from Germany found through OCtavia RS forum - gone for clear film and the cost is 18 euros including postage. Paid using paypal. Whats the worst the worst that could happen??

If you use chrome browser it will auto translate for you !

i was looking at rear guards but thought i would give this a go as its alot cheaper and clear in colour, less bulky.

There is a video I found from a VW/ skoda channel showing the application too.

Will see how it goes and report back

I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on this when it arrives. I have a new (to me) Race Blue VRS estate, so far the rear bumper is scratch free - BUT I have 2 dogs and want to keep it looking nice, not keen on the black or chrome protectors

That's pretty nice! Are the ridges part of the protector?

yes

My old octy had a clear one on it when i took ownership and it was still there 7 years later (although a touch dog eared) pretty sure it was down to the quality and the effort on fitting it correctly.

If more heavy duty protection isnt required i would definitely reccommend it.

Any feedback yet on this bumper protector?  If it works well and there are no issues with supply, I could be up for one.

Hi.

Fitted the protective wrap.

Application easy, garden separated with two drops fairy liquid in litre worked well. Press gently when smoothing as per the video.

Hardly noticeable when installed.

For the price compared to rearguards I’m very happy

My rear bumper is scratched where the boot lid comes down onto it. No idea how thats happened, unless the boot isn't aligned properly. Do they have these protection films in a race blue colour or similar?

Clear black or carbon from reviewing their site.

Im not on commission but maybe I should be!

Thanks for the feedback - that looks pretty good to me.  I'm going to give it a go as well I think.

I did give it a go.  Received the clear protector very quickly a few days ago and then had to source some isopropyl alcohol.  Fitted the protector yesterday, it looks really good.  And, by the way, I don't work for them either!

I ordered one too - matt black to go on race blue estate. Just need to fit it now. Looks very good quality
