Best canton settings

Featured Replies

Been experimenting some with the canton sound. At default setting the sound is just to bright. A big part of the problem seems to be the smaller speakers in the door which shuts off in the ”driver” mode. After going driver mode I actually think pulling down the ”mid” makes the most for more accurate sound.

I’m currently at:

Treble: -5

Mid: -5

Bass: 0

Subwoofer: 0

Mode: ”Driver”

Mostly listening to electronic music.

Anyone like to share your ”optimal” settings?

I prefer trable 0, mid +1, bass +3/+4, sub +2 and mode normal. I also have surround to 9. I feel that sound gets closest to my Heco Alevia speakers at home. However I have sound proofing all over doors, behind speakers and around them (subs) and where subwoofer lies there is a lot of anti-vibration material all over. So the sub is quieter, but the bass is very deep. However I'm still thinking about upgrading to something like this: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00GOYQ2T4/?coliid=I2G1259VM5D23X&colid=2NK3NWW3GYCFY&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it or maybe better https://www.amazon.de/Hertz-DBX-30-3-30-3-Subwoofer-1000-W/dp/B00FKZ07S0/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=Hertz+sub&qid=1556983012&s=gateway&sr=8-17

Well imho mid sucks on canton therefore I go -4 on it, +3 on high tones and keep bass at neutral. Sub on +3

still I listen most of my music from apple so quality of sound differs per song really

keeping surround close to 0

Can you (if you choose) fully switch off the subwoofer in the boot if you have canton?

Don't think you can switch it off as such, but you can reduce it's output to zero or pretty much zero in the volume settings. But why would you want to?

Ah, cool - thanks.

I'm thinking that if you were travelling with a dog in the boot you could easily make their lives miserable (if not painful given the sensitivity of their hearing) with the subwoofer booming a foot away.

Driver mode, Surround set to zero

My eq settings are treble 0, mid 1, bass +3, sub -1

I think the biggest problem is that the system lacks midbass - it's nothing there at all.

Also the treble isn't damped at frequencies above what the tweeter can handle and make it sound harsh. Lowering the treble makes it sound muffled.

If the sub is turned of (as low as it gets) the system sounds like an old portable CD player on batteries - no low mids, no bass, only highs and high mids.
