Hi,

I'm Steve from Belper, Derbyshire.

Currently drive a Fabia vRS, previously had an Octavia vRS.

Love both of them!

I have posted a "help" message elsewhere.

Welcome to Briskoda. Let us have your thoughts on how those 2 vRSs compare in due course. :D

I have to admit to being a bit of an MPG geek...

The Fabia is outrageous! 65-70mpg no problem - with that mad 2nd gear, tyre ripping torque as well!

The Octavia was hoot, even if the top end acceleration is a bit "plod attracting". even that could touch 50mpg using the cruise control.

The Octavia has reversing sensors - a must in that car I think.

The Fabia has heated front seats and Cruise Control... both a steal at £125 each.

Welcome

The Octy just gets better and better the harder it is pushed, especially when a sports exhaust is fitted - the top end of 3rd gear (on a private road of course ;) ) sounds fantastic :D:cool:

How on earth do you get 50mpg from the Octy vRS  I have tried driving like a saint and the best I can do is average a shade over 40mpg :o (This was based on filling up and calculating the consumption, not using on the trip computer readout which seems to overly optimistic to the tune of around 3-4mpg)

Hi Steve

You still on LRUK as well? I've not been over much since the 90 got stolen, and I'm now the proud owner of an Octavia vRS Estate;)

Cheers

Ben

Hello Ben - yep still pouring cash down the drain (off roading in a Disco).

I hope you're enjoying your Skoda - didn't you have a Passat previously too?

I drove 510 on one tank of fuel once. Admitedly the last few miles I was expecting to push it the rest of the way to Hopwwod Services! The trip tank thingy had read 0 miles for about 5 miles....

Best singe tank in the Fabia has been 595. Best "average mpg" shown on the trip has been 74.5 - Swindon to Derby, 50mph the whole way in the middle of the night... I got bored, but it became a challenge of man versus machine!

I managed 76.7mpg from home to work in heavy but constant flowing traffic (25 miles), but usually get more like 50mpg. :D

Lo & welcome to the world of no money left to do another mod.:orb_bonk:

Octavia's great:D, much better than the Passat (130 Sport) or the Golf (130 GT TDi) that replaced the Passat...
