Hi could somebody tell me where the EGR valve is situated on my fabia hatchback 2002 1.4 16v & is it easy to take off? Many thanks in advance. 

Next to the exhaust manifold on the front of the engine. 

Why do you want to take it off? Most EGR faults on these engines are actually to do with the far end of the metal pipe that takes the recirculated gases into the intake manifold getting clogged up.

Well I've had a code reader on it & it's coming up with that fault & I know that it's a failing on these with the valve getting choked up with carbon? 

Nope, not the valve, the far end of the pipe that comes off the valve.

Or you might be thinking of the diesels.

Mines petrol, so what do I do, replace the pipe? Confused now lol

Unblock the far end of the pipe, if you find it blocked.

I'll see if I can find the 'how-to' for you.

What's your engine code?

If yours is a BBY/BBZ it's even easier, I think.

It's 0403 EGR flow circuit malfunction 

In that case have a look at the wires where they go into the connector (looking for a broken wire).
