Not at all - I wake up most nights thinking about Monday week when I get the keys to mine (and I'm over 40!!!). I had one for a two hour test drive six months ago, and regularly go in my mates, but I really haven't been so excited about getting a car since I got my first - a 1983 MG metro turbo - and bought my P6 Rover! In the 25 years since I passed my test that's not many cars I've been excited about!!

The more I read and hear the more I reckon this car has to be the best bargain of the last 25 years. Absolutely nothing to touch it for quality, performance, reliability, dealer satisfaction, driving enjoyment, fun factor....and all for 12 grand or thereabouts.

T minus 9 days 23 hours and counting....

I love my vRS, it really is great and I got very exited when I picked mine up 6 weeks old with 1,000 miles on the clock for £10,250. I was very sad to see my Mondeo go, and it doesn't command the same status that my Zetec S used to. Especially when I was 19 at the time, and it was pimped up :)

please explain "sad to see my mondeo go " ? :)

The venom has Black Magic Paint, Leather Interior and blacked out rear windows, a Carlisle dealer special, Oh and a Venom sticker on the boot, apart from that, its a standard VRS

Everything you said except the venom badge on the boot!!

Have you got any pics of your lovely new car?

A few things.

A standard vRS IMO will not do 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. Especially with a heavier leather interior. Also, it's not wise at all to do 0-60 runs with hardly any miles on the clock, infact it'll do the engine no good at all. Keep the revv's low for the 1st 1000 miles to let the engine bed in properly, even if running sweet as a nut and it had been fully worn in (15,000 mile mark) you will struggle to get 0-60 in 7.5 seconds.

8.5 seconds is a more realistic figure.

i think you may be wrong as the run in period could be a myth. Many people have cars new and trash from day 0 and nothing wrong with them at all.

also if he said he tested and got 7.5 then who are you to say he didn't?

let him believe it if that what he wants.

he may even have a new clutch technique for all you are concerned that allows power to go down fast allowing such times.

The run in period is not a myth. I would put my money on the Handbook of the manufacturers of the car. I agree' date=' lots of people thrash there cars from day one, but as I have witnessed they don't last long (Brothers old 172 engine blew up), not saying this is a FACT because 1 car didn't last but I think as a precautionary measure you might aswell take it easy, just to be safe.

also if he said he tested and got 7.5 then who are you to say he didn't?

Ok! great point, my vRS can do 0-60 in 0.5 seconds, who are you to say I can't. What a load of cr@p, manufacturers do enough tests to realise what a car can do 0-60 in, and it certainly can't do 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. Lets look again at the facts, a brand new engine, not run in properly, probably not pushing the full 130 bhp can do 0-60 in the same time as a 168 bhp Clio 172 that has 42 more bhp, weighs 300kg less and is a petrol so doesn't have the 3rd gear to reach 60 mph limitations that the vRS has.

let him believe it if that what he wants.

He might want it' date=' but he won't get it

he may even have a new clutch technique for all you are concerned that allows power to go down fast allowing such times.

Must be the 1st vRS owner EVER then, and would certainly be sh@gging both the clutch and the gearbox on such a new car.

Lets end this here shall we, back on topic. I'd love that car with that sumptios leather interior, brilliant car mate, good choice

I am taking it easy its just hard especially when you first get it!!

Can you really notice a difference once the engine is run in??

0-60 in 7.5 secs , come on this is a Fabia : ...............0-60 in 6 seconds dead ........................

These Fabias just get quicker and quicker ....................

Most definately, Jabba told me when I had mine remapped at 5k miles I may see upto a 5 bhp increase when my car was at 15k miles. It also drives smoother and has more urge.

the 0-60 time is a little bit rough, only the girlfriend timed it so dont shout at me, i was just excited thats all.

Its so easy to drive in a relax manner in this car but its also really easy to turn it the other way and fly in it.

Just filled up for the second time and i got 341 miles on my first tank, Good or bad??

Ahem, not good.... Hopeyou're not ragging it from brand new? From a fill up (without using expansion) I get 450 odd miles and thats with 17s and 220 horses. How far did you let it go down before filling up again?
