Monte Carlo 1.6 TDI CR what tyre pressure?

Featured Replies

I recently bought this car and it came with tyres 205/45Z R17. These tyres aren’t listed for my car, either on the chart in the drivers door or online as far as I can see. I checked and they were inflated to 35psi when I bought it. Is this the correct pressure for use on this car?

I usually sit mines at around 32/33

I use pilot sport 4’s on the road and ZZR’s on track.

All tyre pressures for the vehicle are on a data sheet in the fuel cap.

205/45R17 tyres have the same load index as 185/60R15 tyres. So use the same tyre pressures.

205/45 R 17 is bigger than the standard / OEM tyres that the Monte Carlo came with (205/40 R 17) and fine and as far as pressures there are choices for lightly loaded cars of more passengers stuff in the car.

Around 33 psi works pretty well, and if you want to drop a few psi then try that or put up a few psi, and really what shows for 185/60 R 15 tyres is neither here nor there.

Maybe the load index is the same but the Speed / Load rating for the Monte Carlo 1.6TDI CR tyres are not.
