Recommendation for auto lights switch

Featured Replies

Any recommendations please of a reputable company (non China) to buy auto lights from?

to fit the Fabia 1 vRS.

i know some say the chrome piece of the light switch surround is a git to get off to get the switch through the hole in the dash.

placement of sensor aswell please, even though I know it’s a short length of cable!

cheers Dean

Just push the switch in, twist and pull, the whole assembly will simply slide out.

What sensor do you mean?

I reckon he’s talking about a sensor to tell the car it’s dark and therefore the lights need to come on without having to do anything for them to do so.

Not heard of this for the MK1 Fabia, Polo / Ibiza platform tbh.

I too have sensors that tell me when it's dark so I can choose whether to switch my lights on or perhaps take my sunglasses off.

Do modern cars do that stuff for you then?

Apparently so.

The only auto lights I’ve heard of on these is the “coming home” lights that switch the headlights and rear lights on when you unlock the car at night.

Yeah, about that. I've seen "auto" lights decide to turn on and stay on in bright sunlight, and not turn on in conditions where I slowed down because I couldn't see 100m ahead.

Or maybe he wants to have permanent side lights on front & back when the ignition is switched on, i have done this on my car by altering the wiring at the back of the side/headlight switch, thus not using a light sensor.

It’s just a gimmick chaps.

auto lights like in my mrs’s Mercedes, I’d like a cup holder too, probably hardly use it, but again it’s a semi useful gimmick.

theres a few auto lights for the golf mk.4 platform, I’ve seen them for years, decided against in our T5.1 we had once.

I have literally never used the cup holder, or the central arm rest, in my Octy. And, now you get me to think of it, if you use the arm rest you can't use the cup holder at the same time!
