Right Taillight Broken

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm the owner of a left-hand-drive Skoda Yeti 2014. After a poor backwards driving, the right taillight was broken and I'm trying to find a replacement part online.

I am having a difficult time making sure that the part I wish to order would fit. I understand that in some countries the Yeti 2014 had a facelift and none of the sites/eBay accounts I've looked at can't confirm that the part would fit my specific car model.

I've attached how my left tail light looks like.

Do you know if the part in this eBay offer is the same? should I order?

Thanks in advance, highly appreciated!

That's definitely a facelift model you've got - the diagonal crease in the lower corner of the tailgate is the giveaway.  Whether or not the facelift rear light cluster is different from the 2009 version I'm afraid I can't say definitively.  A brief scan of online images of both models suggests that the cluster looks the same on both models, but that's hardly conclusive...

This site shows different part numbers for pre- and post-facelift:

5LO 945 112 for pre-facelift

5LO 945 112B for post-facelift.

Not sure what the difference is - might just be lens colouring or something.

That's assuming we're not talking about LED units, which yours doesn't look like.

I've gone over the site. To me it seems that it looks that my car's light is what they call "pre-facelift".

I just wanted to make sure... since the shipping costs are pretty extensive to my country. I don't want to make a mistake.

@Aharoni - I presume you've cracked or broken the lens, rather than totally destroying the reflector and back plate as well. In which case the part number should be moulded into the back plate.

@KenONeill Thanks for the tip! The back plate is only accessible when you remove the taillight, correct? should I disassemble the taillight?

IIRC there's a couple of screws inside the tailgate opening that you have to undo, and then a bit of careful wiggling/pulling will release the unit to allow further inspection and, hopefully, confirmation of the part number.

Your car is definitely a facelift model.  Given that there is no picture on the website that weasley linked for the facelift version to compare it to the pre-facelift then I'd say that you'd be best advised to check the part number of the broken one.

(FWIW, based on the the "what cars does this part fit" list for each of the two options, there are only two engine variants in the prefacelift item's list - CBDB and CEGA - which don't appear in the facelift item's list.)

Based on the chasis number, the relevant part would be 5L0945112B.

Do you happen to know if there is a difference between 5L0945112B and 5L0945112?

Thanks!

Usually the suffix A, B, C etc are modifications made to a part during it's production run to improve or strengthen it.

Thanks, but it shouldn't be different, right?

As in, could I order 5L0945112 when my model requires 5L0945112B?

Thanks!
