Mapping/nav issue with speed limits on A30

Featured Replies

So living in South Devon and travelling in to Cornwall a lot, I've noticed that the speed limits on the A30 are wrong. It says 50 when it's national speed limit on a normal stretch and it says 60 when its national speed limit on the dual carriageway sections. When the speed limit is 50, it reads right and when it drops to 40 or 30 it reads right. But the rest of the time it's hopelessly 10mph out.

The settings are correct for the speed limits in the sat nav settings, ie 30, 60 and 70, but not on the road.

Anyone else in the SW noticed this or is there a setting I'm missing?

Thanks

Nick

I noticed this when we visited St Ives before Easter - looks to me like the mapping data is incorrect (which isn't uncommon and something I've seen on many roads)...

Don't suppose you know who does the mapping and where to report incorrect data?

I'm surprised that you use the built in sat nav, I never do, I use a Garmin with all the cameras loaded and it's updated on a regular basis and hasn't been wrong in a long time.

£90 is what I paid for mine, with free lifetime updates, plus traffic too, bargain, especially now ŠKODA have been faffing around with the mapping.

Why not turn on TSR

Traffic Sign Recognition. That's if you have it fitted but deactivated, if you have it but it is deactivated, you can always ask someone who's good with vcds to activate it for you.

I've got it (vcds) but nearly did damage so I've put it away for good.

Tap the speed shown, it'll display two limits.

It's the latest maps, they show two limits on NSL roads but the slower one sits on top, you'll see a shadow showing the second limit behind until you tap it.

Oh, ok, I'll take a look, thanks. I did see the 50mph speed limit seemed to have something under it.

As for TSR, I'm pretty sure I don't have that. I have obdeleven, so I would turn it on if I did. But I have a SEL so I don't think it was included. Correct me if I'm wrong...

No lane assist equals no TSR. If you have a MIB2, SmartLink is the answer. Google Maps and Waze have much better base mapping then the Amundsen does and it’s worth the one off activation fee for that and streaming music IMO.
