Glasses opening

Featured Replies

On the Octavia in the headlining there’s a   Place to store glasses . Does anyone know how to open it as when I press the button mine solid possible jammed

Is there a pair in there? Maybe jamming the mechanism. If you aren't too worried about the contents give it a shove. Otherwise there may be a way to dismantle the area.

Mine is simply too small, smaller than my Mk 2 locker, to tske a specs case.

Simply press the button and the whole locker drops down.  Maybe ease it open with a plastic knife while you press?

And by the way, the button does not move separately. Press the  edge of the locker like you'd  open the fuel flap.

i can fit two pairs in mine, (not bragging or anything) 😎

I like to keep mine clean and in a hard case.😠 Unfortunately they all seem to be a few mm too long to fit. I've just done an online search for spectacle cases that fit into the Skoda locker but no luck and even looked through my old cases- all are too large.

My Mk 2 Octavia had a more generous size.😎

Just bought the smallest rigid case that  my specs fit into and I can just jam it in diagonally across the locker. The catch looks pretty simple.

Reminds me of when I figured the ash tray in my old Peugeot 407 was just the right size for my Nokia phone. It was one of those push in to release jobs as well. Put it in there and closed it and it wouldn't open again no matter what. Out with the radio system and out with the Climate Control Panel to get access to the top of the ash tray to get my phone back 😁

I've noticed this some time ago and thought it wasn't meant to open until I read your post. So after checking the info in the handbook and trying again it still remains stuck fast . Considering if to apply some leverage or just forget it.

Yes I’m thinking the same do I try and force it or leave it . I bough the car with it jammed . Maybe the previous owner put some large glasses in there and now it won’t open if it could have a gold bar inside that would be nice lol

I normally like to keep my glasses in a case but I achieved the same thing by lining the glasses holder in the roof with anti vibration tape. It protects the glasses and also stops them rattling.

Ah ! yes, I think my car previously belonged to someone connected to Hatton Gardens. I might try prising that a bit,but is it possible that it isn't an item on this  1.0 tsi  MY 2017.

Better let it be for about 6 months though !     Really its likely not fitted to this spec.
