Tyre pressure help, please.

Featured Replies

Hi,

Please help a hapless american understand tyre pressures over here. I'm us to Psi and am wondering how much tyre pressures increase in bar when tyres are warm? My front end was feeling a little "squidgy" today, and I've read on here that the Vrs is very sensitive to pressure changes. I'm on stock wheels and stock Turanzas.

I know I should just measure before driving and then after driving, but if you saw how dirty my wheels were, you'd understand my hesitance to touch them. (I'm giving her a good wash tomorrow, her first:thumbup: )

Cheers,

Will

Easiest way to convert is to remember that 1 bar =14.7 psi . To convert from psi to bar divide by 14.7

Once you've worked out the relevant figures stick a small note inside the filler cap to remind you! I've tried and tested. It works!

2.3 Bar = 34 psi (front).

2.2 Bar = 32 psi (rear).

And tyre pressures go up 1.6psi per 10 degrees C.
