Suspension for Octavia mk1

Featured Replies

Hey guys, i would need your opinion. My right front spring broke, and realized that my shocks are also trashed (kinda normal for a daily 20 yo car). I kinda have a tight buget, but i would wanna change the shocks for something that is close to the OEM/factory, and would want to lower it static like 2-3 cm as well (to get that vRS look, with the 17"). Does anybody have any opinion or idea with what i could go for, what combo? Perhaps with links, if that's also possible. Thank you in advance!

Just don't be tempted to cut springs yourself - you won't pass an MOT now doing that (if they spot it that is!)

What engine size do you have?

I have H&R springs with Bilstein B8's, which have worked amazingly on this car... It's my go to set up, had it previously on my Mk5 R32 and 106 Rallye. Great fast road set up.

I have a 1.4 16valve. It's perfect for city driving. Wanted to lower it a bit, cuz I'm restoring it.

Did you have a drop and budget in mind?

Yeah, kinda a low buget. Busted all the money on the repaint and rust removing :) I was gonna change the suspension next year, but if it broke now, and it's a daily aswell, I need now.
