Coilovers 2019

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

i know im probably touching on a much discussed project but if im honest im clueless. I want to lower my fabia vrs mainly to cut out the the body roll and partly for the looks! I have noticed everyone rates the ap coilovers but from what ives seen there £512!

Do i need to get 4 all the way round?

If not where can i find a kit with just the two. The ride of the car is already comfortable and I don’t want have a solid set up that will rattle the car to pieces.

Can anyone give me some advise or point me in the right direction. Ideally i would like to spend more than £300 and even thats abit of a strech. I understand you get what you pay for so would anyone suggest picking up some second hand ones?

Thank you

You can't do it that cheaply unless you skip the shocks and just fit lowering springs, you can lower the car 25-30mm all round just using springs, this will sharpen up the handling as well.

@nickeeejayyy - Well then, you have a choice. You can keep standard ride height, and fit uprated ARBs  to reduce roll, or you can lower and deal with a harder ride.

Try a RARB first off. The Whiteline one is relatively cheap and easy to fit and adjustable. Not sure I'd want stiffer options with a standard height car.

Actually the OP's limited budget should allow for lowering springs and a RARB as well.

for the price of RARB whiteline you can buy the ap lowering kit for £50 more. Some of the reviews on here all suggest ap lowering kit is great for day to day use. Does anyone have any photos with the lowering springs? Can anyone still say its a comfy drive?

Cheers everyone.
