milotek boot sill protector fitting and review

Featured Replies

I needed a boot lip protector for my octavia scout so ordered a milotek one from Germany and fitted it today.

The protector came in a box, which itself was in another box , along with instructions and a bumper cleaning wipe.

Fitting was by some self adhesive strips which were already attached and had a mastic type of consistency. I supplemented this with 4 additional patches of self adhesive tape although im sure what came with it would have been fine.

Fitting took about 20mins, mainly due to taking time to clean the bumper and get algnment marked up with tape.

The cover is a perfect match for the lower abs silver trim , and finshes the bumper off really well so it looks factory fitted. To be honest i dont know why these arnt fitted as standard.

Really pleased with the final outcome.

Cheers

It makes no sense that Skoda would miss this off the final spec of the scout. Considering the rugged covers elsewhere. Looks good. I like the fact it's not gloss. Really not a fan of gloss pieces like that. Even down to wanting to wrap the black panels on the doors between the windows.

I like that, how much if you don't mind me asking.

It was 85euros  so about £75 including delivery which was similar to other places but I liked the ridged look and the way it matches the other silver trim.

Heres a before and after

I'd like a protector strip for my RS but can't find one for the hatchback or is it what the foreigners call a limousine?

You can get it from your local dealer like I did in October 2017. Choice of Black or Silver for the 245 hatch from memory. Can't help with the part number never took a photo at the time I fitted it.:)

Bought the rear door sill protectors from my dealer also easy to fit and etched VRS logo on them only £25 the pair.:)

Hi Shy,

Yes it looks similar to the VRS one you have but Im not aware of skoda doing one that fits the deeper bumber on the scout estate so have been told that aftermarket is the way to go .

The dealer had one but that one was designed to go under the boot lid and turned up under the rubber boot seal. On the scout with the wider bumper though the turn up was in front of the rubber so didnt work.

Im happy with the milotek one though and it was a similar price to the reargaurds one which is avaialble.

Cheers
