Installing an aftermarket subwoofer and amplifier to 2016 Superb

Featured Replies

Has anyone installed an aftermarket sub and amp to the 2016-> Superb (mine is 206 kW 4x4 L&K)? I have the Canton system with the subwoofer, but it ain't kicking as much as I'd like, therefore I'm looking to install my trusty 10 inch Alpine Type-R SWR-10D2 sub in the boot, amp is going to be Pioneer GM-D9601. I had a V70, that had the battery inside the trunk floor, so any advice on routing the power cable through the cabin is welcome too. The amp outputs 1200 watts RMS, 2400 watts peak.

Aftermarket audi is very difficult. All kinds of protection applied to OEM components. Canton also applies it's own DSP. You are better off accepting the stock system, which isn't that bad, and I came from a 10K custom install on my old car.

Its possible, you can put load on 8ohm sub outputs and run that to amp. However, a lot of stuff can go wrong with such powerful AMP. Electronics won't like that high load. Routing can be done easily through cabin, for the engine bay U can go through wall behind battery (if I recall correctly, I saw that done on some one's superb). Then you have woofer cables at rear so you just need power basically. Then u can adjust volume of sub through car's infotainment system. I'm actually thinking of doing the same, just with far less powerful sub. More like 600-1000w peak power but good quality that can provide very low frequency. I actually Canton really good (and I have truly awesome speakers at home which I listen 24/7 :P). I did a lot of sound deadening through the car and got to say routing cables is not a problem at all :D
