MK1 vrs Polished and ported head.

Featured Replies

I have a spare engine that has a polished and ported head . Was wondering if anyone else has had this done and could tell me about gains also would I have to remap my car again to suit it.

On a standard engine you'll see very little improvement so it wouldn't be worth the cost.

I had the engine free with the car so it's no loss to me 😂. So I won't have to have it remapped again when I fit the engine?

I meant it isn't worth the cost of another remap because there's nothing to be gained.

Ok?

Engine runs excess air anyway. Only when you get to the higher end of tuning does it make a positive difference.

As others, a ported and polished head makes very little difference to a diesel engine, or indeed to a turbo engine. A Furbie vRS is both so this isn't worth the cost of a new head gasket and bolts.
