1st post so please go easy!

 

I've just bought a 1.2 roomster 2015 plate.  

 

want to replace the stereo with something androidy.  Any recommendations  - ideally would like something with rear camera, bluetooth, and ability to use google maps etc.   don't want to spend bucket loads, but want something thats reliable.  any recommendations or non recommendations would be most welcome.

I spoke to him but he suggested that as I was probably looking for something non skoda best to ask on this forum. 

There is a Chinese VAG radio that can link your phone and is OEM

with built in microphone for telephone, also supports RVC

That doesn't have Android Auto, just Android mirroring.

If it comes from outside the EU, then you might have to pay import duty and fees

Is that compatible as a replacement for the Skoda Swing?  Am I right in thinking that the Swing is the same as the RCD310?

  There is no Steering wheel controls on my Roomster, and not  overly bothered if the sensors work through the headunit as plan to put in a rear camera.

In the end went for the ATOTO A6 Pro.   The VW version. Fits perfectly, and so far has been great!      You can tether your phone to it via bluetooth or wifi  hotspot  (more battery drain)  and in effect it works as a full android tablet in your car that way.  

 

 

Is the 15 plate using the mk1 model, we just picked up a 14 plate and I am looking to replace the swing unit with something a bit better, Bluetooth and the like to keep SWMBO happy

Anyway the atoto just fitted in nice and easy.   Could maybe be a little speedier in its actions ie finding routes on googlemaps isn't very quick and theres a bit of a lag between switching apps but apart from that its been great.

 

They do a newer none VW version which has more storage space and requires you to buy a connector/front fascia, but it looks a bit better spec and If I was buying now I would have got that one.

Aliexpress other seller CanBus decoder may work better ! ~£12.90
