Sainsbury Diesel Causing Regens?

Featured Replies

I know someone that works at local fuel depot Sainsburys is the better supermarket fuel out of all supermarkets they have there own tank at the fuel depot and more cleaners and additives . Tesco, Asda, Morison, Esso and Texco all comes out same tank. BP and Shell both have there own tanks.

I always use BP or Sainsburys and never notice a problem I travel to work and back every day a total 14 miles round trip.

GPFs are passive filters, they run hot enough to do it continuously Completely different to a DPF which needs additional fuel for an occasional hot run to burn off the debris

I'll continue to buy diesel from any supermarket or fuel station which ever is the cheapest. Have had no problems in the past.

If you are suggesting that its perfectly possible some supermarket fuel caused a problem once in a single car, I agree.

If you are suggesting it's *more likely* that one tank of fuel caused the engine management in a single car to go crazy because it came from a supermarket, than the CEL once lit up coincidentally after a tank or Morrisons fuel, you're wrong.

No; I'm saying that it could happen for a specific individual more than once without it necessarily happening for every individual who drives that model of car and uses Morrison's fuel.
