Loving new Citigo

Featured Replies

Had the new citigo 3 weeks and absolutely loving it

50 + MPG and real fun to drive

One of my better decissions

Cheers Steve

They really are excellent cars.

I can manage 90+mpg, my son about 38...

In real life 90+ mpg is impossible though. Unless someone is towing you.

I don't tend to get excited about cars any longer.

Best mpg for me ,in heavy traffic is 47,after 45years+ driving, and IAM pass. Beats my prevous 12yr old Corsa ,at 28mpg.However,imo these cars have their foibles, and the ride quality is not as good as some other makes. But they are a cheap car,and of course you get what you pay for.Build quality seems good......

Having had mine new for three months, still not sure if I will warm to it.But,it drives ok,lacks power a bit on hills and grunts a bit...........stop/start can be a bit  unnecessary at times, but I just reach for the off switch.

Cars are not my thing as have ridden a motorbike daily for 30 years

However my 1st car was a mini which I loved , then been people carriers for the family which I hated driving when I had to drive

The citigo reminds me on my 1st mini , just fun

Don't drive it that often as my wife uses for a short commute daily where I have a long commute of my motorbike

But  for what we need its spot on given the cheap price

Noticed you've only had your citigo for 3 months , wondering if your mpg is starting to increase and also did your engine consume any oil during break-in ?

My mistake - should have said 80mpg, which is possible!

Have a look at

/

Repeat that 10 times. And use Fuelio or similar application. Then you know what it is. In real life.

Still waiting your real life figures. 😉

Mine 5-6 litres for 100km. Real life figures. Not bad I would say though.

Gyp, what’s the software used to display your mpg e tc please

Your real life must be very hard to get such bad figures in an Up!

Our 1.4tsi Octavia does about 8l/100 on sub 3km from cold trips and about 5L/100 for 10km or over from cold start. Of course Australian cold starts don't compare with Finnish cold starts.

The Fabia I had for week averaged 4.6L/100 over the 1100km I travelled in it.

Would love to try a Citigo but they are not sold here 😞

I was in total awe of what 777Boeingman achieved in his Citigo on a tank at a respectable average speed.

Picked up my Monte Carlo just over a week ago, loving it so far and showing 60+ mpg on the P.I.D most days (40 mile round commute) still getting used to only having 60 bhp though :)

Sounds good mpg

Just filled again 380 miles and fuel light on put 33 l in = 52 mpg , PID agreed at 52 mpg

Mainly short trips so really pleased

Got a 300 mile motorway trip in next few days will be interested in the mpg hoping for 60 mpg + @ 70 mph

Cheers Steve

Over 3000 miles now in a SEAT Mii 60 BHP - link to Fuelly below for real life MPG. Seems to have settled around 50 MPG (best is 54.7).

Loving the car though, real 'back to basics' fun!!

On the mk 1, that's the display on the PID, Skoda's Personal Infotainment Device  - the GPS/information thing that attaches via the hole at the top of the dash.

Ah, but yours is the mk 2, but I suspect similar is available through the app on your phone

You may well get 60mpg or even better for your journey but I'm not sure there is a current production petrol car that can return 60mpg at a true 70mph on a flat empty highway in still wind conditions, not even a Citigo.

I'm sorry that may seem a pedantic and contradictory statement but while your PID is accurate there often beneficial effects from optimistic speedometers, unintentional drafting on busy motorways, or 'forced' economical driving spells at 50mph on long roadwork sections that some people do not take into account when they report an exceptional consumption figure.

Howdy

Skoda app is showing 60 mpg so far

Sat @ 70mph on clocks , GPS showing 67 mph keeping up with general motorway traffic and there was a bit of 50 mph limit motorway as always

Needed a lot of revs going up porlock hill glad it had completed running in miles , will do a real calc when fill back up to full cheers Steve

That's what I'm getting too. Really quit happy with that because I drive over hilly terrain with it everyday.
