Hope there is some folks here, that can give me a bit of insight.

 

I have an Superb 3T 2.0 tdi 140 DSG MY 2015. Its running with the stock DSG software, from when it was produced. I find the engine braking a bit harsh, and the shifting times a bit slow, and therefore i started to look if there was some updates to the DSG software. This is my current:

When i check for updates for this specific box at https://vag-flashinfo.de/index.php?partno=02E+300+062+B&as= or https://www.dunt.at/dsg-flashfile-tabelle/

I get a lot of updates for this unit.

 

BUT if i ask Skoda, they tell me that there is no updates released for this gearbox in a skoda Superb.

 

So my question is, if the dsg software, is independant of the vehicle and engine control, and in theory it is possible to flash the gearbox with the latest software, no matter what car it is released for, just as long as it is the correct unit ? From the first link there is several updates available, but they are sort of grouped by prefix, see attached screenshot.

 

 

 

 

 

Without a TPI explaining which software should be used, it's very hard to know which, if any, are applicable to your specific DSG.

 

Might be worth paying for an hours access to https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do it should be possible to browse all the TPI's applicable to the Superb and see if any are applicable.

 

Otherwise, a VAG DSG specialist maybe able to offer advice

Actually i have looked at erwin, and there is no tpi for updating the software in my gearbox.

 

But there is so many updates to the specific dsg unit - they are supposedly for other cars containing the same dsg unit. Tharefore i thought that one of those clould be flashed on my dsg unit, no matter it was designed to an octavia or a passat. But i guess im wrong....

From what I understand, there are quite a few different versions of the gearbox (with hardware changes) so there is no guarantee software from a similar version will actually work.

 

There are some knowledgeable people on the ross-tech forums so assuming you own a genuine VCDS lead, you could post there with an autoscan?

 

Oh - I can't remember if you've tried doing the DSG adaptions/basic settings yet?
