Rear view camera.

Featured Replies

To you budding car electricians out there. Could the optional rear view camera be rewired and routed through some sort of recording device to act additionally as a rear view dash cam?. Yes I know I could but my question is, I suppose, is the equipment available for such a jo?

It's a nice idea but I really doubt there is anything commercially available to do that. Also A standard dash cam would have a much better video quality than the rear view camera.

I use this dash cam, had it nearly 3 years and I've had it fitted in 2 car's now

The only issue I have now is that it doesn't start to record automatically when I start the engine, I have to start it manually. The image quality is good enough front and back. I have the rear camera mounted high up in the rear window, so it can't be moved/vandalized. When it finally gives up the goat I'll be buying another one.
