Hello bought it a year ago, read all the topics of the infamous DSG 7 speed and the CDAA 1.8 TSI engine heard only problems and problems only few who said it was a dam good car.

 

My car is 2011 Superb Estate Elegance+

 

with 213000km on odometer

 

About the DSG 7 speed has only had 1 clutch changed about 20k back was running with the original till then. gearbox is dam smooth had before BMW 530d automatic before cant even compare these. DSG changes so fast and smooth its incredible. DSG have had no software updates no oil changes on the mechtronic box. Just love that DSG.

 

About the engine and the oil consumption

 

Im using 5w40 withouth Long life ´using  502.00 oil

 

uses about 0.100-0.200ML of oil every 2000 kilometers and thats very good for that engine, i recommend using 5w40 after about 150k+ KM-s

Engine have had no pistons or oil rings changed (has the old ones not the new ones after june(?) mines may.

 

210000 engine had chain + chain tensioners + water pump changed (had crack on it) and few seals + oil change + some misc stuff škoda did this bill was 1400 euros (first chain change on this car)

 

car has had only regular maintenance oil changes every 15k

 

Ive been very happy with this car if you check the forums you only see bad stuff and no one is writing any good on it

 

If you dont take care of you car it will brake.

I'm on my third Superb, the first was  Mk1 manual Elegance 2.0TDI and I had that car for 3 years (company car), then a Mk2 Elegance, 2.0TDi DSG and again had for 3 years as a company car and then upgraded to a Mk2 face lifted model L&K 2.0TDI DSG and again had it for 3 years and then I retired and liked the car so much that I arranged to buy the car from the lease company. In those 9 years they never let me down once and my current one is now almost 6 years old and it has had the timing belt and water pump changed on the timed program and the blower motor recently failed completely (seized solid) and the aux drive belt snapped, and is still on the original brake pads.

 

I never have to top up the oil between services, I still have unopened complimentary can of oil that came with the car in the boot. All the motoring correspondents all seem to love the car as well, not heard a single one moan about the car, it is what the name superb, it does it all, great taxi, chauffeur driven limousine, family car, executive and a cut price luxury car as well, with a simply massive boot and passenger space.

 

Would I have 4th one if it came to it, you bet I would in heart beat, If I could afford it I'd have a new Mk3 with the adaptive suspension L&K with the same trimmings I currently have. But as long as my current car keeps going I'm happy to stick with it, I know its history and it is almost like new still after 6 years of solid dependable work, 53,000 miles on the clock and drives, rides, feels and looks like a new car just driven out the showroom. Previously I had had Rovers, Mondaeo's, Cavaliers, Cortina's,  Mercedes C class, Omega's and Passat's and I can honestly say that the Superb's have been the best cars.

Glad to hear! I searched for cars ages and only one liked was the superb! And dam right I did the right choice!
