SEL vs Monte Carlo,

Featured Replies

Hopefully Going to be in a position soon to get the wife a new car, looking at Fabia SEL’s as it seems to have all the toys, is there anything on the Monte Carlo apart from the styling that the SEL’s don’t get,

the monte carlo  gets rear LED lights privacy glass and rear electric windows over the SE L as fare as i'm were

Unless they've change the MC considerably from the 2016 model, it gets full glass roof, rear spoiler, front skirt, fatter low profile, bigger brakes, lower suspension and funky interior. The handling is much better, but at the expense of the ride. The DSG in sports mode makes it really responsive and lively.

Panoramic roof is not standard anymore, instead you get black "color concept" roof on hatchback, like with mk2. Plus climatronic and 6 speakers, that were not included with pre facelift (also i think pre facelift did not have electric rear windows as standard)

fatter low profile, bigger brakes, lower suspension  - These were never a standard, same brakes and tyre sizes as regular fabia. 15mm lower "sport suspension" only if you ordered with that option.

The Monte Carlo is based on the SE spec Fabia Plus this :--

Monte Carlo (above SE)

WHEELS

16" Italia alloy wheels in black

EXTERIOR

Monte Carlo logo and exterior styling including rear spoiler, rear diffuser, front grille and door mirrors in black

Privacy glass
Black roof (Hatch only) LED rear lights

INTERIOR

Monte Carlo styling with ‘carbon’ leather bolstered seats Centre console in black
Door sill inserts with Monte Carlo logo (front only)
Front and rear floor mats

Sports leather multifunction steering wheel with red stitching

COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE

Rear electric windows
Climate control air conditioning

I guess that my 2016 MC (bought used at 5,000 miles) wasn't entirely an off the shelf version as I thought. It handles really well, better than the vRS in my opinion. Obviously the 1.2 TSi engine isn't in the same league though!

Check that wheel spec. again, mine (Monte Carlo) came with 15" Black alloy wheels.

Just checked... 215/40 R17 Bridgestone Potenzas on black Gigaros. (sorry that they're so dirty in the photo!)

Are you sure 15" and not 16", because stock MC wheels are 16" Italia-s 🤨

Look at the tyre wall: under Potenza it clearly states the size 215/40R17.

Ooops! Nexen, 215/45R16 86H

The comment was not about your tyres.
